Fire-resistant Glass
Fires can start anywhere, and it’s important that fires, in the event they cannot be extinguished by traditional means, should be contained for as long as possible. Fire-resistant glass is designed to contain flames and inflammable gases, but the glass is not designed to prevent heat transfer.
Fire-insulating glass is available that not only contains the flames and inflammable gases, but also prevents heat transfer to the other side. Our wired glass usually comes with either a 30 or 60 minute fire-resistance rating, but we are able to source from all major glass suppliers if a longer duration is required.
If requested, we can also provide details on full glazing installation solutions to fully maximize the benefits of fire-resistant glass. If the glass is to be installed in doors, side panels, or low-height windows, our wired glass conforms to BS 6206 Class C for safety glass where necessary.

Express Lostwithiel glaziers offer a complete double glazing service including a local double glazing installer, double glazing repairs and Lostwithiel replacement double glazing.
Double-glazed units take approximately two to three days to order, and all our units come with a manufacturers guarantee. If requested, we can replace the vacuum between the glass panes with a layer of Argon gas, to further facilitate heat management. We can also supply and install triple-glazed units on request for Lostwithiel and the local area.
